All it takes is that look
A piercing gaze
Silent anger and disappointment
Years before it was different
In the beginning it was simple
Love came naturally
Disappointment crept in as
the years pass on
Bitterness and judgement
taints you view
Day after day I walk on eggshells
Trying my best not to get that stare
I long for the days when closeness was there
Back when the tears came from joy
Each day passes and I continue to pray
That we will be close again some day
